Endowed with the essential qualities for a danseuse Poornima is certainly one of our best Bharathanatyam artists of this generation. Poornima has also studied under us almost 20 years ago and continued her contact with us as a true shishya. She has a solid technique combined with a gift of 'Abhinaya', which makes her an accomplished and accredited performer. She had intensive training under us and for for several years she has been under our tutelage and guidance. As a student she is a very hardworking and as a performer she spares no effort to achieve perfection. We always appreciated her philosophy of not pushing herself with undue ambitions. She has integrated her art gracefully with a good family life of happiness and satisfaction. She deserves all praise for her exemplary artistry in Bharathnatyam and maintaining her performing and teaching standard aloft. She has a true passion and devotion to her art that keeps her in good humour and balanced state of mind, unlike her contemporaries. Being young, intelligent and totally committed to her art, we are sure she will keep the Karnataka flag aloft and achieve all laurels she richly deserves.
As her mentors and Gurus both Shantha and myself wish Poornima all the best in life and bless her to have a fruitful career in Bharathanatyam.
