Shibani
Shibani is Poornima's daughter and has been under her tutelage for the last 7 years. With her talent identified at a very young age, she has since then been nurtured in Bharathanatyam by her mother.
Her achievements include the following:
  • A solo performance at 'Chiguru Nrityotsava'(The Youth Festival) – selected by Department of Kannada and Culture, Govt. of Karnataka
  • A solo performance in Haveri Festival – Sponsored by Govt. of Karnataka
  • 'Nritya Chilume' – Sponsored by Ananya in Bangalore
  • 'Navarasa Navaratri' – Organized by Kala Sindhu in Bangalore
  • 'Sai Nrityotsava' – Organized by Sai International in Bangalore and Chennai
  • 'Parampara' – A festival organized by Venkatesha Natya Mandir
  • 'Belli Gejje' – Duet performance with her mother

She has been part of many corporate shows and has participated in all the group productions of Nrityanjali. She has been featured in Udaya TV 'Chinnara Loka' for both dance and playing the keyboard.
Charles Ma
Charles Ma is an extremely talented Bharathanatyam artiste, getting groomed under Guru Smt. Poornima for past 5 years. Having carved a niche as a contemporary dancer and choreographer, he is now all set to be a professional Bharathanatyam dancer. He is extremely dedicated and has many performances to his credit. His dance has always enthralled other dancers and art critics.
Shravya S Vasista
Shravya's innateness of dancing was identified at the age of five and she has been learning Bharatanatya under Guru Smt. Poornima since then. She performed her Rangapravesha in July 2003. She is a Vidwath and also an auditioned artiste for Doordarshan. Academically, she holds a masters degree in Organisational Psychology.
Shravya has many dance performances to her credit. She has performed at many international conferences, state and national festivals under the able guidance of Guru Smt. Poornima. To name a few – Bengaluru Habba, Aryabhata - Bangalore, Khadi Utsava – Bangalore, Yuvasaurabha – Bangalore, ICCR Every Friday – Bangalore, Ankura Festival – Bangalore, Karavali Utsava – Mangalore, Krishnajanmaashtami Celebrations – Udupi, Kalamahotsavam – Mumbai, Kannada Rajyotsava – Chennai.
Chetana Kalluraya
Chetana was introduced to this art form at the age of four. Guru Smt. Poornima groomed her to be a creative and graceful dancer. She performed her Rangapravesha in 2003. She is a Vidwath in Bharathanatyam and has many dance performances to her credit. To name a few – Bengaluru Habba, Yuvasaurabha – Bangalore, ICCR Every Friday – Bangalore, Ankura Festival – Bangalore, Krishnajanmaashtami Celebrations – Udupi, Karavali Utsava – Mangalore, Kannada Rajyotsava – Chennai, Kalamahotsavam – Mumbai .
Kavita
Kavita has been a keen and ardent student of Bharathanatyam ever since she was initiated into the art at the age of eleven. At present she is learning under Vidhya Subramanian (Cupertino, CA) and Poornima Ashok (Bangalore, India). She has also had brief but memorable experiences with Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan.
She has performed in several dance-dramas, group performances and has given solo performances both in India and the US. In 2005, she debuted her solo dance production titled "Kodaiyan Kanavu" in Bangalore under the direction of Poornima Ashok, followed by successful performances in MusicAcademy-Chennai, Melkote, San Francisco and Maryland. In 2007, she presented a unique production titled "Rasanubhava" under the Lasya banner. She participated in the Storytime Festival held at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco in 2008. In July 2010, she was featured in Sai Nrityotsava, Bangalore.
Medha Dixit Vellal
Medha Dixit is a disciple of Guru Smt. Poornima for 17 years now. She has a Masters in Psychology, is a PGD in Choreography from NIKC and a Vidwath in Bharathanatyam. She is an auditioned Doordarshan artist .She has given performances, lectures and workshops on Classical and Neo Classical Dance in India and abroad. She is currently running her own dance school called 'SVASTI' in Bangalore.
Preethi Kumar
Young Preethi Kumar is an extremely talented and enthusiastic dancer. Groomed under Guru Smt. Poornima from past 10 years, she performed her 'Arangetram' in 2010. She is one of the budding talents of Nrityanjali. She has participated in all the productions of her institution.
